Funeral services for Alison Russo-Elling, who was killed in an on-duty attack, will be held next week.
A wake is scheduled Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Commack Abbey Inc. in Commack. On Wednesday, a service is planned at 11 a.m. at the Tilles Center in Brookville.
Russo-Elling, an FDNY EMS lieutenant, was stabbed to death at 20th Avenue and 41st Street in Astoria less than a block away from her station last Thursday.
Peter Zisopoulo, 34, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the stabbing, police said. According to officials, the attack was unprovoked.
The FDNY said Russo-Elling began serving as an EMT in 1998. She aided in rescue and recovery efforts after the Sept. 11 attacks, according to the department.
Mourners on Friday gathered outside FDNY EMS Station 49 in Queens in remembrance of Russo-Elling.
