Police arrested a man who they say shoved a 52-year-old woman onto the subway tracks at the Jackson Avenue station in the Bronx Sunday afternoon.
Theodore Ellis, 30, was arrested Tuesday just before noon on assault and reckless endangerment charges, police said.
On Sunday, Ellis allegedly shoved the woman onto the tracks of 2 and 5 line station just after 4:40 p.m., according to the NYPD. Bystanders pulled her to safety and there was no train in the station at the time, authorities said.
The woman suffered lacerations to her head and arm, and was transported to Lincoln Hospital.
Surveillance video released by police showed a man in a white tank top and wearing a red backpack grab a woman from behind and shove her on to the elevated subway tracks head first.
