In a rare step, the city's police union has endorsed President Donald Trump's bid for re-election.
At an event at Trump's private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, tonight, the president told Police Benevolent Association, a group that represents more than 50,--- active and retired city police officers, that no one will be safe in Joe Biden's America. He also says he will be increasing funding for police departments around the country.
PBA President Pat Lynch said the group is proud to endorse the president for reelection.
"Mr. President, we're fighting for our lives out there," Lynch said. "We don't want this to spread to the rest of the country. We need your strong voice across the country to say we have the support of law enforcement across this country."
Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani also attended the event.
Trump predicted that he could be the first Republican to win New York this November since Ronald Reagan in 1984. He won only about 37 percent of the votes in New York in 2016.
