MoveOn, a progressive public policy advocacy group, is launching a “Scoop the Vote” ice cream truck tour and has partnered with Ben & Jerry’s -- a company that has long championed progressive causes -- to raffle off free, limited-edition, autographed pints of “Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee.”

The flavor is in reference to a 2023 Harris quote that went viral. While explaining that everyone exists “in the context of all in which you live and what came before you,” she said, “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?” The comment eventually became an internet meme, particularly in the wake of her launching her presidential campaign in July.

Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee is coconut flavored, layered with caramel and topped with red, white and blue star sprinkles.

The “Scoop the Vote” tour begins Monday in Philadelphia and will make 20 stops, mostly targeting battleground states Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada. It will also visit New York, New Jersey and Ohio. The co-founders of Ben & Jerry’s, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, will be at Monday’s kickoff event.

“Excitement and joy are on our side right now, but we cannot lose sight of how close this election will be,” MoveOn Executive Director Rahna Epting said in a statement. “MoveOn’s Scoop the Vote Ice Cream Truck Tour will meet voters where they are and help mobilize our communities to defeat Trump once and for all this fall.”

In addition to giving away ice cream and other freebies, the MoveOn tour will feature elected officials, activists and special guests. The group will help visitors make a plan to vote by Nov. 5 and show voters how they can get their friends and family to vote, MoveOn said.

“You can lick and say you care all you want, but if you’re not going for the big scoop — to get registered and vote — at the end of the day, all you’ve got is some drips down your shirt,” Cohen said in a statement. “Go big. Scoop the vote.”

The truck will feature other election-theme ice cream flavors, including “Unburdened by What Has Vanilla Bean,” Inauguration Celebration Birthday Cake,” “Fight for Our Rights Sorbet” and “MoveOn Mobilizer Milk Chocolate.”

MoveOn will also collaborate with Jeni’s Ice Cream and Malai Ice Cream during a New York City stop.
