The campaign has raised more than $615 millions since Harris became the nominee in late July, following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would end his bid for reelection and support Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee.

According to the campaign, 95% of all August donations were under $200, with teachers and nurses continuing to be some of the most common donor occupations. Nearly 3 million donors made contributions last month, with over 1 million of them being first time donors.

The day Harris announced Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, Aug. 6, was the third best grassroots fundraising day of the campaign, according to a memo shared with reporters.

“In just a short time, Vice President Harris’ candidacy has galvanized a history-making, broad, and diverse coalition – with the type of enthusiasm, energy, and grit that wins close elections,” said Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez. “As we enter the final stretch of this election, we’re making sure every hard-earned dollar goes to winning over the voters who will decide this election.”

“Make no mistake: this election will be hard-fought and hard-won. But with the undeniable, organic support we are seeing, we are making sure we are  doing everything possible to mobilize our coalition to defeat Donald Trump once and for all,” she added.

The Harris-Walz war chest will come in handy for the Democratic ticket as the candidates and surrogates storm the swing states both in person and over the airwaves, with the campaign promising to use “an aggressive paid media campaign through Election Day, putting a spotlight on Trump’s Project 2025,” a presidential transition project rife with controversial and far-right proposals created by Trump's allies at the Heritage Foundation.

Over the weekend, ahead of Harris’ debate with Trump, the Harris-Walz campaign is holding a “Project 2025 Weekend of Action” in battleground states, with appearances from Sens. Amy Klobuchar, Jon Ossoff and Alex Padilla as well as Education Secretary Miguel Cardona and White House senior advisor Tom Perez. Celebrities will also attend events to help our campaign break through to voters about Project 2025, including Bill Nye, actor Wendell Pierce and TV personality Shereé Whitfield.

“With hundreds of offices and thousands of staff across the battlegrounds, we are able to harness all the buzz around the debate and break through to hard-to-reach voters on Project 2025,” said Harris-Walz battle ground states director Dan Kanninen in a statement. “We are speaking to those Americans who are turned off by Trump’s extremism and making sure they know there’s a home for them in Vice President Harris’ campaign.”

Kanninen cited the endorsements of former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney and a son of the late Arizona Sen. John McCain as “a powerful signal to swing voters.”

“This weekend, we are building on that momentum and taking our message directly to the voters who will decide this election in our largest ever campaign mobilization,” he added.
