Embattled Rep. George Santos of New York will have one more Republican challenger trying to block his bid for reelection.

With a sizable primary field already lined up to run in the Queens and Nassau County district, lawyer Greg Hach became the latest to throw his hat into the ring.

“Our representative in Congress took an oath to this country that can't be trusted, because he can't be trusted,” the Air Force veteran told NY1 ahead of his Tuesday announcement.

Hach, a father of three who said he has never run for public office before, grew up in Hicksville and currently lives in Upper Brookville. According to his biography, after 9-11, he co-founded a law firm and represented victims of the attack.

He joins retired NYPD detective Mike Sapraicone and Kellen Curry, a veteran who later worked for JP Morgan in the growing field of Republicans running against Santos.

Across the aisle, the Democrats running include Democratic activist Zak Malamed, former state Sen. Anna Kaplan, Nassau County legislator Josh Lafazan, St. John’s University professor Will Murphy, and reporter Darius Radzius.

Santos, a Republican, was indicted in May on 13 federal charges in the Eastern District of New York, including seven counts of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering. He has pleaded not guilty and has refused calls by Democrats and even some Republicans in Congress to resign.

Hach said he supports the U.S. House censuring Santos. Asked if the House should go further and expel Santos, Hach said he has not “really given that much thought.”

Hach said his top legislative priorities include combating inflation and improving public safety by increasing policing in neighborhoods and boosting support for law enforcement. He also raised concerns about illegal immigration and the conditions at the southern border.

“I'm at a loss to understand why sexual orientation and gender issues are prioritized over issues like violent crime, Chinese aggression, energy independence and the cost of groceries,” he said.
