Mayor Eric Adams weighed in Thursday on the competitive City Council primary in Harlem, endorsing Inez Dickens for the seat.

“You know the community so well,” Adams said of Dickens, currently a state assemblywoman and formerly a City Council member. “You’re going to bring the experience of Albany, the experience of being a council person, just a whisper away from being a speaker.”

Dickens is facing Central Park Exonerated Five member Yusef Salaam and State Assemblyman Al Taylor in the primary.

The current Harlem Council member of the 9th Council District Kristin Richardson Jordan had declined to run for reelection.

Dickens was among the first elected officials to endorse Adams for mayor two years ago.

Adams has mostly stayed out of this year’s races ahead of the early-voting period that begins on Saturday.

But he also endorsed Melinda Katz for reelection in the Democratic primary for Queens district attorney.
