The district office of Rep. George Santos was vandalized with paint this week, officials said.

NYPD officials say a woman called the police Thursday evening to report that Santos' office had been vandalized. Officers found gold paint sprayed across the front window of his office off Northern Boulevard in Douglaston when they arrived.

Police say the graffiti read "Santos is" followed by the Greek, Mandarin and Spanish words for excrement.

"This act of cowardly behavior is beyond unacceptable and compromises the safety of my staff as well as my constituents," Santos said in a statement Saturday.

Police said Saturday that no arrests have been made so far in connection to the incident.

The congressman represents New York's 3rd Congressional District, which covers parts of Queens and Long Island. The Queens district office was formerly occupied by Rep. Tom Suozzi.

Santos has been involved in multiple scandals since his election in November, when it was discovered shortly after that he fabricated much of his personal history, including his college education, religion and work history.

Earlier this week, Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres asked federal and state investigators to examine whether Santos violated securities law during his time working for a Florida-based investment firm.

On Tuesday, Santos temporarily stepped away from his House committee assignments, and a Newsday/Siena College poll was also released, finding that 78% of voters in his congressional district say he should resign.
