After a tumultuous week, we finally have the preliminary ranked-choice voting results in the Democratic race for mayor. NY1’s Zack Fink, Courtney Gross and Juan Manuel Benítez analyze the unofficial numbers, which show Eric Adams still in the lead. But with more than 125,000 absentee ballots left to be counted, Kathryn Garcia and Maya Wiley still have a path to victory.

They also discuss a colossal data error made by the New York City Board of Elections and look back at the agency’s troubling record.
