SAN ANTONIO — Grammy Award-winning guitarist Carlos Santana was hospitalized before he was set to hit the stage in Texas. Santana is known for hits such as “Maria Maria” and “Smooth.”
The 77-year-old musician was scheduled to perform in San Antonio at the Majestic Theatre on Tuesday for his Oneness Tour. Santana was rushed to the hospital due to dehydration, according to a social media post.
“It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight’s show in San Antonio has been postponed. Mr. Santana was at the venue (Majestic Theatre) preparing for tonight’s show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration,” said Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis, in a statement.
In an update from the venue, Santana’s condition was revealed to have improved, and Tuesday’s show is going to be rescheduled.
