TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — The National Cherry Festival has announced three more popular bands have been added to its entertainment lineup.
Hinder, Buckcherry and Pop Evil will perform on the Pepsi Bayside Music Stage on Thursday, July 3 beginning at 6 p.m.
Rock band Hinder has enjoyed crossover success few musicians attain. The band’s 2005 debut album, “Extreme Behavior,” got to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and was also a top rock album. The album’s first single, “Get Stoned,” climbed to a No. 4 mainstream rock spot.
That single was followed by one of the biggest songs of the year, “Lips of an Angel,” which peaked in the top 10 of several Billboard singles charts.
In the 26 years since the band’s debut album, Buckcherry has scored hit songs, platinum and gold records, and has amassed millions of fans worldwide. Still, the hard rock outfit built its reputation on exciting live shows.
Pop Evil, a modern band from Michigan, has nine No. 1 singles, seven hit albums and multiple Gold and Platinum certifications under its belt. The band’s latest release is “What Remains.”
The National Cherry Festival previously announced Tyler Hubbard, “Weird Al” Yankovic and T.I. as scheduled performers.
Since 1925, the National Cherry Festival has been an annual tradition in Traverse City. The eight-day festival celebrates cherry production in the Grand Traverse Bay region, which is nicknamed the “Cherry Capital of the World.”
This year's festival is June 28-July 5.
