Commuters encountered a slew of delays Monday morning as mechanical issues affected multiple subway lines, according to the MTA.
Shortly before 9 a.m., L train service was halted between Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn and 14th Street-Union Square in Manhattan due to third-rail power issues in the tunnel connecting the two boroughs, the agency said.
Those power issues were resolved just before 10 a.m., but the MTA said that L trains would be running with delays in both directions.
Meanwhile, 71st Avenue-bound M and R trains began to run express from Queens Plaza to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue around 10 a.m. after a train’s brakes were pulled near Queens Plaza.
Brake issues seemed to plague the MTA throughout the morning commute as brakes were also pulled on the 1, A, C, F and R trains.
The disruptions coincided with ongoing delays on the G train line, which is undergoing a partial shutdown as part of Phase 3 of track and signal replacement work. Riders in Clinton Hill, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Fort Greene are being served by shuttle buses.
