Calling all New York City foodies: For the next few Thursdays, Union Square will be the place to be.

The first Union Square Night Market officially kicked off on Thursday, July 11, Urbanspace and Union Square Partnership said in a news release. The night market will also be open on July 18, July 25 and Aug. 1. 

More than 20 of the city’s independent food vendors will be dishing out treats like Belgian-style fries and jerk chicken at the “foodie paradise,” which runs from noon until 9 p.m. in Union Square Park’s South Plaza, the release said.

“We are thrilled to bring a new local food event to one of the best community spaces in New York City,” Urbanspace president Eldon Scott said in a statement. “We’re proud to celebrate our roots as a pop-up food market maker, spotlight food entrepreneurs, and create a memorable experience for everyone.”

Vendors participating in the event include Home FriteTNT Pineapple BowlsTreat Yourself JerkLa PalapaParish Po’ BoysMama’s Cupboard and Chocolate on Tap.

“Union Square Night Market continues the tradition of exceptional culinary experiences that have defined Union Square,” Julie Stein, executive director of Union Square Partnership, said in a statement. “Locals and visitors can grab a bite from the diverse vendor lineup after their pickleball game or before catching an iconic movie in Union Square Park.”
