Video game streamer Kai Cenat has made a deal with prosecutors over his role in inciting a riot in Union Square last summer, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.

In August 2023, police were forced to break up a group of thousands of people who had gathered in Union Square for a video game giveaway hosted and promoted by Cenat.

The event ended chaotically, with 65 people arrested, including 30 juveniles. Some were spotted jumping atop vehicles, hurling bottles and throwing punches.

Several people were injured, including some with bloodied faces. At least four people were taken away in ambulances.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office agreed to drop the case against if Cenat and two of his associates issued a public apology and reimbursed $57,000 in cleanup costs.

Cenat had been facing charges of inciting a riot and promoting an unlawful gathering in New York City.
