After seven months of repairs to subway tracks and tunnels, full F and M train service resumed Monday morning for thousands of commuters.

Service was partially suspended last August to fix infrastructure leaks to prevent future erosion and deterioration, as well as extending the lifespan of the current infrastructure, according to the MTA.

During that time, crews removed existing track and constructed new concrete roadbed end tracks, installed more than 25,000 feet of new third rail with protection boards, brackets and insulators, replaced old cables and installed new signals, officials said.

The shuttle that has been running between Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge was suspended at 5 a.m. March 30 as part of the final stage of the project.

Regular service on the F and M trains officially resumed at 5 a.m. April 1.
