A person was fatally struck by a train in Queens early Tuesday morning, causing significant delays to 7 train service during the morning commute, officials said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of someone struck by a train at the 82nd Street-Jackson Heights station in Jackson Heights around 6:30 a.m., the FDNY said.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said. It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the person being struck.

Service on the 7 train line between 33rd Street-Rawson Street and 74th Street-Broadway was temporarily suspended after the incident, the MTA said.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, full service along the 7 train line had resumed, aside from pre-planned service changes, according to the MTA's website.

Tuesday morning marked the second day in a row that service on the 7 train experienced severe disruptions.

On Monday morning, “urgent” pre-planned construction work that lasted longer than expected caused the MTA to suspend part of the line for several hours.
