A 13-year-old has been charged with murder while a 14- and 15-year-old are facing gang assault charges in connection with the killing of a Coney Island teenager earlier this month, police said Monday.

Nyheem Wright, 17, was found on Mermaid Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 with a stab wound to the torso, police said.

Banks said Wright’s principal at Liberation Diploma Plus High School in Coney Island described him as “a joyful leader.”

“He was on the verge of graduation, and was a hard worker who took an active role in leading other young people at his school,” Banks wrote on Twitter.

Authorities did not immediately say whether the trio knew Wright, and said the incident was likely gang related.
