A 74-year-old woman was punched, unprovoked, in the head in Midtown Wednesday, sending her falling to the pavement, according to authorities.

Police say the incident happened in front of 485 Madison Ave. around 11 a.m.

The woman was later transported to NYU Langone Hospital and is in stable condition.

Police say the suspect, a woman, fled the scene on foot northbound on Madison Ave.
