Trains had been bypassing the station since it temporarily shuttered this past Nov. 3, the release said.
“I am thrilled that we were able to reopen the Clark Street station on schedule — and within budget — to deliver Brooklyn Heights customers modern and reliable elevators for years to come,” MTA chair and CEO Janno Lieber said in a statement.
“This project shows how the MTA is making good on the commitment to deliver construction projects faster, better and cheaper,” he added.
The station’s original elevators “had been in service for more than 100 years and reached the end of their useful lives,” the MTA said in its release.
The agency temporarily closed the station in 2000 as it upgraded and replaced some of the elevators’ parts, but it had not fully replaced the entire elevator system until this past year, the release noted.
