NEW YORK — The lead actor in the Broadway play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" has been fired after a misconduct complaint.

The production says the complaint about James Snyder was lodged in November by the actress Diane Davis who plays his wife.

Snyder was suspended and then fired at the end of an independent investigation.

The production says Davis has chosen to take a leave of absense.

Details of the misconduct were not shared.
