Mayor Eric Adams announced members to his senior staff Wednesday, naming a former Republican member of the City Council and a high-powered Brooklyn political power broker to top posts.
Eric Ulrich, who most recently served in the City Council representing parts of southwest Queens, has been appointed as senior advisor to the mayor. Frank Carone, one of Adams’ closest advisors and chief counsel for the Kings County Democratic Committee, will serve as Adams’ chief of staff. Dawn Miller will serve as First Deputy Chief of Staff. She previously served as chief of staff at the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.
“This team has the experience, knowledge, and skill to take our government — and our city — to new heights,” Adams said in a statement.
Adams’ appointments include several staffers who played key roles in his campaign and longtime advisors.
Menashe Shapiro is joining the administration as deputy chief of staff after working as an advisor on the campaign and sitting on the appointments committee of the transition. Tiffany Raspberry will serve as senior advisor for external affairs, working as a liaison between City Hall and outside stakeholders.
Stefan Ringel, a longtime aide to Adams who has worked for him since Adams was Brooklyn Borough President, will serve as senior advisor to the mayor. Ryan Lynch, who served as chief of staff at borough hall, will work as deputy chief of staff at City Hall.
