Malikah Shabazz, 56, a daughter of civil rights icon Malcolm X, was found dead Monday, sources told NY1.

The FDNY responded to the home at around 4:19 p.m. Monday, where sources say she was discovered dead.

Bernice King, daughter of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King, expressed her condolences.

"I’m deeply saddened by the death of #MalikahShabazz. My heart goes out to her family, the descendants of Dr. Betty Shabazz and Malcolm X," she said.

The city's medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death.

"We are investigating and the cause of death is pending the final results of additional testing, but the death does not appear to be suspicious following initial review," the Office of Chief Medical Examiner said in a statement.

On Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed his condolences to the family and said there is still no indication of any foul play or criminality, but that they are still seeking more information.

"This family has been through hell over and over again and there's some horrible injustice to someone who ultimately did so much good for the world," he said at his daily news briefing Tuesday.

He went on to say: "To Malcolm's family, there are million and millions of people in New York City and all around the country who love you and care about you, who embrace you, who embrace his legacy and it's just, I'm so sorry for what they're going through right now and any way we can support them we need to."
