NEW YORK — A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody after he allegedly stabbed another boy in the stomach with a pair of scissors at a Bronx high school on Friday, the NYPD said.

The teen stabbed a 14-year-old boy at Walton High School in Jerome Park around 12:50 p.m., police said.

The city’s Department of Education said a school staff member accompanied the boy who was stabbed to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

“Safety is our top priority, and NYPD and EMS immediately responded to an incident on the Walton Campus today,” New York City Department of Education spokesperson Nathaniel Styer said in a statement.

“The student is in stable condition and we will provide the school with additional safety and counseling support, as well as work closely with NYPD on their investigation," Styer added.
