NEW YORK — Police in Manhattan are investigating after a woman was shot Monday through the peephole of her front door.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. inside the Frederick Douglass Houses located at 860 Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side.
Police say the woman told investigators someone knocked on her door and when she looked through the peephole she was shot.
She was taken to the hospital and expected to be okay.
Police are now searching for the person responsible.
