A public hospital in Brooklyn will be named in honor of the borough's own late U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The 11-story facility will be part of the Coney Island Hospital campus, which has been renamed South Brooklyn Health.
NYC Health + Hospitals is currently renovating the campus, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy. Those renovations are set to be completed next year.
The redesigned campus will include a new elevated Emergency Department, a number of modern specialty care suites, and a new floodwall.
The renovation is happening thanks to more than $900 million in funding from FEMA.
The building named in Ginsburg's honor is expected to be open next summer.
Ginsburg was born and raised in Flatbush. She died last year at the age of 87 following a long battle with cancer.
