NEW YORK — A funeral will be held on Tuesday for the New York City Police Department officer who was struck and killed by an alleged drunken driver this week.

Officials say highway unit officer Anastasios Tsakos, 43, was struck on the Long Island Expressway in Kew Gardens early Tuesday morning while helping to divert traffic from another fatal accident.

His wake will be held on Monday at the Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox church in Greenlawn. That's also the location for his funeral on Tuesday.

Tsakos will be buried at a cemetery in East Northport on Long Island.

Police say Jessica Beauvais, 32, of Hempstead, Long Island, is facing more than a dozen charges in connection to his death, including vehicular manslaughter, DWI and driving without a license.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story misstated the location of the funeral home. It’s in Greenlawn, not Greenwood.
