NEW YORK — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect citywide as a second wave of snow is expected to hit the five boroughs Friday morning, following a snowy Thursday.

Three to four inches of snow fell Thursday in most parts of the city before accumulation stopped. Another one to two inches of snow is expected to fall between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday.

The city's Health + Hospitals system suspended all COVID-19 testing Thursday as of 2 p.m.

The latest shipment of COVID-19 vaccines was also delayed amid the snowstorm.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said this week's shipment of first doses may not arrive until Sunday due to weather delays caused by storms across the country. They normally arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday.

"In fact, the vast majority of the resupply we expected for this week has not shipped from the factories yet," de Blasio said at his daily press briefing.

Alternate side parking rules are suspended citywide through Saturday.

Roadway dining and open streets were suspended Thursday, but sidewalk dining was open.

De Blasio urged people to stay off the streets and roadways so Sanitation Department crews can clear them.

Information from NY1's John Davitt was used in this report.
