BROOKLYN, N.Y - Steiner Studios in Brooklyn is undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion, creating thousands of jobs.

The film studio has been chosen by the city to develop a 500,000 square foot film and television producion hub in Sunset Park.

It will create 2,200 industry jobs and 1,800 construction jobs.

The project will include eight new soundstages, a parking facility and investments in the community including job training for high school students, classroom space and a new playground. 

The city will contribute $15 million towards the work.

Steiner Studios currently operates out of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and is one of the largest film and television studios outside of Hollywood.
