NEW YORK - This year's General Assembly at the United Nations will take place virtually because of the pandemic.

Bloomberg News says world leaders who would normally attend the event in September will be invited to send pre-recorded speeches instead.

Physical access into the UN will be limited to one or two delegates per country.

The UN is also encouraging member nations to move all side events to virtual platforms so fewer people have to enter the building.
