BRONX, N.Y. - Making a rare foray into a heavily-Democratic Congressional district, Planned Parenthood today is launching a digital ad campaign attacking anti-abortion candidate Rubén Díaz Sr.
The reproductive rights advocacy group says the Bronx Councilman would be a direct threat to health care access if he were to go to Congress.
The ads will highlight his history of incendiary anti-abortion and anti-gay comments.
The conservative City Council member is one of 12 Democrats running to representing the 15th Congressional District, but he has a strong shot thanks to widespread name recognition and the fact that his son is Bronx Borough President.
Planned Parenthood more typically focuses on Senate races in battleground states.
Primary Day is Tuesday. Early voting is already underway.
