Two sisters from the Catskills are facing charges in connection with an incident involving a Molotov cocktail during protests Friday night.
Police say 27-year-old Samantha Shader, of the Catskills, is being charged with four counts of attempted murder after she allegedly threw a lit Molotov cocktail inside a police van while four officers were inside.
Police say the incident took place at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights.
In addition to the four counts of attempted murder, Shader is being charged with assault of a police officer, attempted arson, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
Police say she was taken into custody afterwards and bit an officer on the leg.
During the arrest, police say her sister, 21-year-old Darian Shader, interfered and was also arrested.
Police say she's charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
Law enforcement sources tell NY1 that the two women will face federal charges.
