The final week of May is bringing a warming trend for us here in New York City. The warm weather turnaround comes as the city shakes off the chill from what’s been a very cool May.

Temperatures for the month are averaging more than three degrees below normal. Right now, this May ranks in the top 10 coolest May’s on record for the city. In fact, New York City hasn’t seen a May rank in the top 10 coolest since 1967.

On Wednesday, expect highs in the upper 70s, along with morning clouds and afternoon sunshine.

Then on Thursday, temperatures are going to top out in the low 70s and it will be mainly cloudy. 

For Friday, spot thunderstorms are possible and the high should be around 78 degrees.

For Saturday, there could be morning showers, paired with an expected high temperature of 80 degrees.

Right now, this May ranks in the top 10 coolest May’s on record for the city. In fact, New York City hasn’t seen a May rank in the top 10 coolest since 1967.
