Former Knicks star and Georgetown Head Coach Patrick Ewing has been hospitalized for coronavirus.

Ewing broke the news on Twitter Saturday.

"I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19. This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones,” Ewing wrote.

Georgetown Athletics put out a statement, saying the 57-year-old basketball legend is isolated at a local hospital and is the only member of the program who tested positive.

Ewing also played for Georgetown, but is best known for his 15 years with the Knicks.

The seven foot center was named to 11 all-star teams and became the franchise's all-time leader in points, rebounds, and blocked shots.

Ewing won an NCAA championship, two gold medals and led the Knicks to two NBA finals.

He was inducted into the hall of fame in 2008.
