He is the third NYPD executive member to be diagnosed with coronavirus.
The news about Miller comes as the NYPD has lost its first employee to the virus.
Police officials say custodial assistant Dennis Dickson died Thursday in Brooklyn.
Dickson was a member of the staff at Police Headquarters and had worked for the department since 2006.
Police Commisioner Dermot Shea shared his thoughts about Dickson on Twitter.
"When Hurricane Sandy struck, he worked 17 days straight. Since the coronavirus has struck New York City, he has been keeping the NYPD safe so our officers can keep you safe," Shea siad.
The department so far has 3,700 sick outs, with 350 employees confirmed to have the virus.
