Unemployment claims statewide have skyrocketed.

The Department of Labor says its website is averaging 250,000 logins a day.

That's a 400 percent increase over the normal average.

The department says it received more than 1.7 million calls and more than 2.2 million web hits from Monday through Saturday last week.

The labor department says it has added server capacity, increased bandwidth, and extended phone hours.

The Department has also dedicated more than 700 staff members to help process claims.
