Ringing in the Year of the Rat at the Lunar New Year Parade, New Yorkers marched through the streets of Chinatown and Little Italy Sunday afternoon.
Despite fears that the new Coronavirus would cause people to steer clear of the festivities, it was crowded as ever.
Signs hung over the street said, "Be strong China, Be strong Wuhan."
People of all ages were out celebrating, decked out in their brightest colors.
Organized by Better Chinatown USA, the celebration flowed through the Chinatown neighborhood streets with dancing groups, floats, and performances by artists.
