Governor Cuomo met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Capitol Hill to talk about how the federal government can better serve local governments Sunday afternoon.

Cuomo is in Washington for the National Governors Association Winter Meeting.

During the chat, Pelosi took questions from the governor on economic development, as well as affordability when it comes to things like prescription medications.

The big topic was how to improve the nation's infrastructure.

"This is an issue that is not just about bricks and mortar and paving roads and the rest, it's about growth, it's about public health," Pelosi said.

Cuomo also recently announced the state will file suit against the Trump administration's plan to block New Yorkers from enrolling in "trusted traveler" programs such as Global Entry.

That move, which the governor called politically motivated, was in response to New York's new "Green Light" law allowing undocumented immigrants to apply for driver licenses.
