New data shows NYCHA residents filed almost 60,000 complaints of roaches and bedbugs in just the first nine months of 2019.
The Legal Aid Society released the numbers after filing a request under the Freeform of Information Law.
It found residents of the Grant Houses in Harlem filed the most work orders, 981, with the vast majority involving roach complaints.
Meanwhile, the Pomonok Houses in Queens had the most bedbug complaints at 116.
For both cases, it took the housing authority an average of about nine days to address.
In a statement, NYCHA said, at the time, they "lacked the resources to adequately address many issues in its aging housing portfolio, including pests, due to years of federal disinvestment."
They added that they are now working closely with the federal monitor, who was appointed later last year, to come up with a better action plan against pests.
