One woman is dead and another injured after they fell between two subway cars in Brooklyn early Sunday morning.

Police say the 23-year-old and 24-year-old women were both intoxicated on the A train platform at the Broadway Junction station in East New York.

The younger woman died after falling between two cars on the platform.

One man who was standing nearby described what he saw.

"Two girls, two drunk girls, they walked, they had on heels and they walked out. And then they [were] walking on that side,” the man said, pointing to the subway platform. “And the black girl fell in first, so like she fell in, the train kept going, but they [were] holding arms. And then the white girl fell in, and she kinda got hit a little bit, but not fully. But the black girl, the train kept going."

The other woman suffered a broken arm.

The identities of the two have not been released.
