Governor Cuomo has ordered an investigation into a bomb threat targeting Times Square via social media.
Cuomo says there is no indication that the threat is credible, but he has directed state police to launch a full-scale investigation.
There will be increased NYPD and state police presence in Times Square.
The NYPD also says its counter-terrorism unit and intelligence bureaus are investigating the origin of the social media post.
In addition, they encourage the public to help police, and as always "if you see something, say something."
"The bomb threat made against Times Square is a despicable and cowardly act meant to instill fear and panic in our community, and New Yorkers will not tolerate these scare tactics," Cuomo said in a statement.
