NEW YORK - Police are investigating after a man and his dog were stabbed early Wednesday morning at a subway station in Manhattan.

Police say the victim was sleeping on a bench on the "F" train platform at 14th Street with his pet beside him.

At some point investigators say a man came up to him, and the two started arguing.

That's when man allegedly stabbed both the victim and his dog in their legs.

Both are expected to recover.

It's not clear what sparked the dispute.
