A memorial service for Eric Garner is being held in Manhattan on Sunday, as the family mourns the five year anniversary of his death.

It comes days after the Justice Department decided not to federally charge NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo in Garner's death.

That decision sparked outrage from family, friends, and elected officials who have spent the week calling for Mayor de Blasio and Police Commissioner James O'Neil to fire Pantaleo.

The service today also comes in the midst of what the family is calling 11 days of outrage.

Eleven rallies and protests have been held around the city — one day for every time Garner is heard saying I can't breathe in the video of his arrest.

A departmental trial did wrap up last month for Officer Pantaleo, but a decision about his future with the NYPD has not yet been made.
