NEW YORK - One of the city's top radio stations is going off the air after nearly 50 years in business.

WPLJ is signing off at 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the month.

It was sold to Christian broadcaster Educational Media Foundation earlier this year.

The station will reportedly be renamed WKLV, or K-Love, and will play Christian music.

WPLJ first went on the air in 1971 as a rock station.
