BRONX, N.Y. - After a three-day sit-in protesting racism at an elite private school, officials offer an olive branch to students.

Students at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School staged the demonstration after a controversial video surfaced.

It reportedly showed students from a few years ago using racist, homophobic and misogynistic language.

Protestors said they were appalled that the school hadn't disciplined them and claim the school has a culture of bias against students of color.

On Thursday, organizers reached an agreement with administrators that includes a mandatory black studies course for all students.

State Attorney General Letitia James praised the decision in a statement saying, "The students of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School have been immensely brave, steadfast, and effective in their attempts to right the systematic wrongs they’ve experienced while receiving their education."
