In the one day since President Donald Trump returned to the oval office, he immediately took action to implement his policies.
Trump signed 42 executive orders, memoranda, and proclamations, took 115 personnel actions, and engaged more than 200 executive actions including granting a sweeping pardon of defendants related to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
He’s declaring a national emergency at the southern border and effectively closing the border to those trying to seek asylum. And he is looking to limit the constitutional right to citizenship at birth.
The president also ordered the U.S. to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement and the World Health Organization.
And Trump is rolling back protections for transgender people and terminating diversity, equity and inclusion programs within the federal government.
Meena Bose, director of the Center for Study of American Presidency at Hofstra University, joined “News All Day” on Tuesday to discuss Trump’s first day and his inauguration.
