A new year can be a time to set goals and make changes to personal habits. For some, this includes to cutting alcohol for the month to participate in what’s called a dry January.

Around 25% of Americans said they completed a dry January last year, according to analytics platform Civic Science. That’s up from 16% in 2023.

For those looking to stay social in the city without the pressure of alcohol, there are several sober bars and dry events taking place. Soft Bar is hosting a lineup of activities, including tastings and panel discussions.
