Queens native Ashley Olivia Fisher got her first acting job at 11-years-old. Then, she trained at LaGuardia, the Performing Arts high school. Fast forward to today, she’s one of the main characters in the new BET streaming show, Average Joe.

She joined “News All Day” on Women Wednesday to talk more on her career.

Fisher says that she always wanted to be an actress and would even do plays with her family.

Her new show is a dramedy that has a lot of dark humor. She plays the daughter of a man who discovers that his late father was involved with the Russian mob.

Fisher says she’s inspired by her family’s humble, Jamaican beginnings.

Her advice for actors who are looking to make it as well: have faith and keep going.
