Cenia Paredes is living the American dream. 

Paredes worked at companies like Calvin Klein and Oscar de la Renta and now she lives in the city, building her own brand, “Cenia New York.”

Paredes joined “News All Day” on Women Wednesday with more on her rise in the fashion world.

She grew up in the Dominican Republic and was inspired by her mother’s work as a seamstress to follow her own path in fashion.

She says there are so many variations to the female body and that most designers were not addressing that. Paredes says she loves color and silhouettes that accentuate the figure and feels that her designs come from her roots.

She takes pride in mentoring other young, Latina designers, telling them they can also turn their dreams into reality.
