Climate Week NYC got underway this weekend, bringing together activists, elected officials and global leaders to address the urgent issue of climate change.

The annual event, strategically timed to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly, is set to amplify discussions on climate change among world leaders.

Rohit Aggarwala, the commissioner of the city's Department of Environmental Protection and the city's chief climate officer, appeared on “Mornings On 1” Monday to shed light on the importance of Climate Week.

During the interview, he emphasized the need for comprehensive actions to combat climate change at the individual, local and global levels and highlighted New York City's commitment to sustainability.
