Elected officials in New York are continuing to monitor the situations in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic following Hurricane Fiona.
Among those local leaders is Rep. Adriano Espaillat, who told “Mornings On 1” anchor Jamie Stelter that his team has been working to find out what is most needed to help people impacted by the storm.
“What we hear from some of the authorities is obviously, they need water, nonperishable goods,” he said during his appearance Tuesday. “And they need, of course, help – money help.”
He said there has been significant structural damage in both Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He said he is working to send federal dollars to assist in recovery efforts.
